The Fort Lauderdale Air Show will take place this weekend on Saturday, November 21st and Sunday, November 22nd. The event footprint will be from East Sunrise Boulevard north, along North State Road A1A, to the 1600 block.
The event site is scheduled to open at 9:00 A.M. on both days, and the actual performances are scheduled from 11:30 A.M. until approximately 3:00 P.M. This year the show will feature all four U.S. Air Force fighter jet demonstration teams. Viewers will also enjoy performances by the F-22 Raptor, F-35 Lightning II, F-16 Viper and A-10 Thunderbolt II Demonstration Teams along with some of the nation’s top civilian performers.
Marine Advisory:
Boaters are advised of a no anchoring and safety zone off the Fort Lauderdale Beach area. The safety zone area, where anchoring is not permitted, will be marked with buoys and protected by the Fort Lauderdale Police Department Marine Unit, as well as additional multi-agency marine law enforcement partners.

The safety zone will be marked by temporary buoys that will be put in place beginning 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 18th until approximately 4:00 P.M. Sunday, November 22nd. This safety zone will be strictly enforced during the show.
Traffic Advisory:
In order to accommodate the event set-up and breakdown, designated law enforcement personnel will facilitate any necessary intermittent closures, within the event site, beginning on Friday, November 20th from 9:00 A.M to 4:00 P.M. and again on Monday, November 23rd until the entire event site has been returned back to normal operations.
Motorists and bicyclists should be aware of road closures in this area and should plan to be detoured via North Federal Highway between Oakland Park Boulevard and Sunrise Boulevard.
Northbound and southbound State Road A1A will be closed for thru traffic from the intersection of Sunrise Boulevard to Northeast 16th Street on Saturday, November 21st and Sunday, November 22nd during the hours of 6:00 A.M to 6:00 P.M. Residents and visitors attempting to enter this area will need to produce proof of residence or an event pass upon arriving to the checkpoint at Northeast 20th Street and North State Road A1A. The only access into this area will be from the north; via East Oakland Park Boulevard.
Lost Child Prevention and Reunification Program:
Fort Lauderdale Police Department Personnel will be posted near show center, at Northeast 15th Street and North State Road A1A, providing wristbands for any children attending the show. Parents and guardians are encouraged to write a name and contact phone number on these wristbands, in case of separation.
To ensure the highest level of public safety is achieved, law enforcement officers will be stationed throughout the event site and the surrounding area to guide pedestrians and motorists.
Miscellaneous Prohibited Items:
- No grills or open flame equipment, of any kind, will be permitted on the beach.
- Bicycles, skateboards and roller blades are not allowed within the designated show area.
- Bicyclists are encouraged to use the existing bike racks to secure their bicycles.
