The Second Annual Fur the Love Pet Fest returns to Fort Lauderdale Beach on Sunday, Feb. 20, at its new location, Las Olas Oceanside Park, aka The LOOP. Celebrating Fort Lauderdale’s love for their furry companions with a day of four-legged fun, the event is once again hosted by the dynamic mom and pup duo behind the award-winning Instagram @TourwithTeddy and blog “Living A Fairytail.”
Coinciding with National Love Your Pet Day, flower crowns and fur will fill the air during this ulti-mutt Sunday Funday experience. New this year is the VIP bark brunch picnic featuring indie-acoustic tunes courtesy of JJ and the Florida Oranges band. The Caribe Vegan, 30 Slide, Tropical Smoothie Café, and Coffee Vibes are amongst some of the al la carte food vendors for the public.
Welcoming locals and visitors of all ages, Instagramable moments abound with a variety of activities. Try out your pups skills at the Pawz-itive Dog Training Agility Course. The Road-Tripping Rover VW Bus photo booth by Good Times Roll just begs to fill your feed. Those seeking a unique way to bond with their furr-iend, can get down with their dog at the Red Cheetah DOGA session. A shoppers paradise also awaits with vendors ranging from pet services to a plethora of clothing, food, and accessories. Vendor highlights include Certified Therapy Dog, Healthy Smiles Pet Dental and PetWell Clinic Pembroke Pines, Pet Wants Fort Lauderdale, Petit Pups Pawtique and More, and Ruff House, to name a few.
Fashionable Rewards
Fur the Love Pet Fest’s 2022 theme, Pupchella, is a nod to the music festival Coachella. Guests are encouraged to dress in theme with flower crowns, tie-dye and boho accessories. A limited number of FURshionista tickets ($40), provide VIP entry and entry in the Pupchella Fashion Show for a chance to win a variety of prizes, which include a one-night stay with your pet at The Kimpton Goodland Hotel Fort Lauderdale Beach in a premium guest room, a professional pet photo session with FTLPetFest official photographer, Lorena Cora Photography (a $499 value) and a $100 Ruff House Gift Card.
Prior to the event, guests are encouraged to enter the #PUPCHELLA photo contest by uploading a photo of their pet in their Pupchella-inspired finest to https://theloopflb.com/fur-the-love-photo-contest/. The pet who earns the most votes by Feb. 13 will have the opportunity to win a FURshionista VIP package. The grand prize includes, two VIP tickets and one entry in the Pupchella fashion show (a $70 value).
FTL Pet Fest is generously supported for the second year by the City of Fort Lauderdale Beach Business Improvement District. 100% of event profits will benefit 100+ Abandoned Dogs of Everglades Florida, a nonprofit organization that was established as a community effort to end the neglect and abuse of animals. Tickets range from $10-$40 for those ages 12 and older.
