In the Air & On the Ground

The Fort Lauderdale Air Show returns to Fort Lauderdale Beach the weekend of April 29 – May 1, 2022 with a thrilling lineup featuring the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, Navy F-35C Lightning II Demo Team, A-10 Thunderbolt II  Demo Team, and other military and civilian performers. Set on and over Fort Lauderdale beach, the weekend-long annual event is full of unbelievable aerial acrobatics guaranteed to make for a memorable time on our sandy shores.

The event is free to the public, if you don’t want to pay for extras. Ticketed spaces range from 10-by-12-foot sandboxes to a VIP penthouse experience on the 10th floor of the Pelican Grand Beach Resort. Friday, April 29

Friday Night Sound Waves

Before the performers take to the skies, Fort Lauderdale Beach will be rockin’ to the tunes of Sippin’ Fire at the free Friday Night Sound Waves concert at Las Olas Oceanside Park, aka The LOOP. Bring your dancing shoes, wallet, appetite and come down early to walk the Air Show Displays on the Las Olas Festival Street and shop the Night Market from 5pm – 10pm. Attendees can also opt for a pre-concert workout, or toss out a picnic blanket and purchase dinner from the local eateries on-site or around the beach. PRO TIP: On the Friday before the show, there will be a dress rehearsal, which you can watch from Fort Lauderdale beach. Though the rehearsal schedule isn’t public, bookmark the event’s official Facebook page for the latest updates.

Las Olas Oceanside Park Farmers Market

Take in the breathtaking views of the beach and enjoy the ocean breeze while perusing an eclectic array of traditional market fare, including a fine selection of fresh produce, cheese, baked items, plants, handmade goods, jewelry and more. Come before the air show to walk through the Festival Street displays,  take in a morning group HIIT class with Outfit Training at 8:00 am or Yoga Fusion on the main lawn with Lisa Pumper at 9:30 am. Sunday, May 1

Sunday by the Shore

This new community building event welcomes the public to connect with their neighbors and make new friends. Attendees are invited to bring a picnic blanket and lawn chair, or borrow one from The LOOP, and enjoy a Shop & Stroll market, a variety of lawn games including pickleball, checkers, tic-tac-toe, and more, plus live entertainment. All Hands on Deck Welcome Ceremony and Navy Band Concert

The community will welcome the visiting Sailors and Coasties participating in Broward Navy Days ( Fleet Week, Fort Lauderdale), followed by a free concert performed by Navy Band Southeast from 6pm – 8pm. Free to the community, the event is hosted by Fort Lauderdale Beach Business Improvement District at Las Olas Oceanside Park. Details.
